Viscosity means the resistance of a fluid to flow. It is a very important parameter for the final product in the engine oil, bitumen, paint, resin, and etc. industries.
The test method of determining the kinematic viscosity which is applied on Parsian Technology devices that are designed as single and double bath, is suitable for liquid petroleum products such as: kerosene, waxes, diesel, and other fluid up to 135 ℃.
In standard method (ASTM D445), the kinematic viscosity should be determined at 40 ℃ and 100 ℃ for liquid petroleum except bitumen. The standard temperatures for determining of bitumen kinematic viscosity are 60 ℃ and 135 ℃ (ASTM D2170).
To perform this test method, a viscosity bath with the ability of fixing temperature, thermometer, glasss capillary viscosity tube with suitable viscosity range, and tube holder are needed.
