This standard test method which is applied on Parsian Technology Group device, supports processes for determining the consistency of lubricating grease by the penetration of a cone with standard dimensions, mass and finish. The penetration measurement method can be used for unworked, worked, and prolonged greases samples with a penetration between 85 and 475.
In this method, for unworked sample, it should be placed in a worker cup (or other suitable cup) and the temperature must be fixed at 25℃. Then, the specific cone of the penetrometer is released and allowed to penetrate into the grease for 5 seconds. Due to the high accuracy of the report, it is better to repeat the test three times. According to the standard test method, for worked types of specimen, the sample should be subjected to a specified number of strokes in the grease worker.
